The weaver and tapestry maker Roberta Denni guides you in this weaving journey: starting from the basics with the assembly
of the warp and going through all the steps of the creation of the fabric, you will discover not only the infinite possibilities of the canvas
but also the bobbin and perforated fabrics launched that could be sources of inspiration for your original research of
new textile solutions. Wrapping the product fabric into a wraparound scarf, a set of placemats or a
runner will be the final phase of the course… or maybe a new beginning!
Introduction to natural fibers and pendulum spindle spinning; warp design and calculation,
warping, loom assembly, paper setting, sample weaving.
First fabric: design of a striped wool warp in three colors; swatches weaving with: free lines, patterns
regular and irregular plaids, woven with weaves of yarns in different materials, weights and colors, openwork, bobbin, thrown and
brooks bouquet.
You try out various types of finishes, you learn to file samples with all the necessary data, you design simple objects
hand woven.
Number of meetings:
4 appointments of 3 hours each for a total of 12 hours

Cost of participation: €145 per person, per module + €10 for the annual membership card
What's included:
For the entire course each participant has the exclusive use of the comb-heald loom, a perfect loom for whoever wants
learn to weave. All materials are included.
